HERE AND NOW

How many times do I have
to put a smile back on my face?
Ready for the umpteenth start.
Trying to breathe some fresh air
through the dust of the ruins around me, around me.

What gives meaning to our life?
The moments you had?
The time they’ve lasted?
Still don’t know…

Phrases, gestures,
“being here and now” or just “to have been”,
just “to have been” (girls choir)
and I wonder.

All the things I’ve done.
All the words I’ve said.
All the ghosts that crowded my mind.
All the sundry colours,
that I’ve used to paint the spaces of my life.

A fleeting smile captured on a torn, yellowed snapshot,
Is it but this I leave behind me?

What’s wrong with you?
What’s wrong with me?
It all ends in tears anyway,
’till the dawn that I wouldn’t ever want to see.

Stances, glances,
“being here and now” or just “to have been”,
and I wonder.

All the things I’ve done.
All the words I’ve said.
All the thoughts that crowded my mind.
All the days I’ve closed my eyes,
and even all the nights I’ve spent awake.
All the dreams I’ve chased.
Pages of this worn out, red scrapbook.

A fleeting smile captured on a torn, yellowed snapshot,
Is it but this I leave behind me?

Try to find the hidden meanings.
Look around the darkest corner.
I’ll be running till I fall down.
Bathing all alone and it barely chills my bones.
When it’s all over.
Wearing the right mask for the next flash to come.
And so, is it but this I leave behind me?

LIVIN’ IN A BLURRY WORLD

Hey you!
What’s going on out there?
Don’t you see?
World’s going crazy.
Nobody seems to care.
Anthropological Involution.

The new millennium Middle Age,
is knocking hard on our heaven’s door.

Me?
I’ve got my own troubles to fix.
A restless creek.
So eager to flow away,
but hijacked by my left brain

The new millennium Middle Age,
is knocking even on my heaven’s door.

I see me on the other side.
The Side of me I’ve always tried to hide.
no no no
for how long can I take this fight?

Mine is gonna be a mad world.
A sick world.
A wild world.

Livin’ in a blurry world.

Livin’ in a messy world.

Oh boy,
when moon and sun are just one, what do you get?
Suspended souls.
Your garden pets.
Orthrus & Cerberus.

The new millennium Middle Age,
is just another mess right out my door.

I see me on the other side.
The side of me I’ve always tried to hide.
no no no
I cannot take this fratricidal strife.

My halves colliding.
As the moon’s eclipsing the sun.

I see me on the other side.
The side of me I’ve always tried to hide.
no no no
for how long should I take this fight?

Mine is gonna be a mad world.
A sick world.
A wild world.

Uhm de A.I.
Livin’ in a blurry world
Uhm de A.I.
Livin’ in a messy world
Uhm de A.I.
Livin’ in a blurry world
Uhm de A.I.
Livin’ in a messy world

ONE, TEN, A THOUSAND LIVES

One, ten, a thousand lives.
Bits of puzzles undone,
mixed up as one.
One, ten, a thousand lives.
Many ways of being,
as many as human eyes seeing.

So, it ended up that you ain’t who you thought you were.
Everything is just a blur.

Zoom out of you
Get a wider view.
Can you see it?
Many rivers have given life to your lake.
To your lake.

One, ten, a thousand lives
Bits of puzzles undone,
mixed up as one.
One, ten, a thousand lives
A string of alternative theories
in a life-long series.

One, ten, a thousand lives
Bits of puzzles undone,
blended into one
One, ten, a thousand lives
Many ways of being,
as many as human eyes seeing.

For every choice you make,
For every road you turn down,
there might somehow be another you
living a different life
living a different life

One, ten, a thousand lives
Bits of puzzles undone,
mixed up as one.
One, ten, a thousand lives
A string of alternative theories
in a life-long series.

One, ten, a thousand lives
Bits of puzzles undone,
blended into one
One, ten, a thousand lives
Many ways of being,
as many as human eyes seeing.

Life is a chain of labyrinths
and each exit takes you to the next entrance.

The more you try to escape the maze,
the less you spot the right gate.

One, ten, a thousand lives
Bits of puzzles undone,
mixed up as one.
One, ten, a thousand lives
A string of alternative theories
in a life-long series.

One, ten, a thousand lives
Bits of puzzles undone,
blended into one
One, ten, a thousand lives
Many ways of appearing
as many as human eyes seeing.

One, ten, a thousand lives
Bits of puzzles undone,
mixed up as one.
One, ten, a thousand lives
A string of alternative theories
in a life-long series.

One, ten, a thousand lives
Bits of puzzles undone,
blended into one
One, ten, a thousand lives
Many ways of appearing
as many as human eyes seeing.

EMPATHY

Really don’t know when it began.
Really don’t know what makes it stronger.
If I sync the beating of our hearts
might this ease your getting older?

Will it be a dreamy journey?
Will it fill my eyes with drops of wonder?
Sifting sorrow from your soul.
Call it empathy

Really don’t have the proper words.
Really don’t know how to get stronger.
But I bless each cut in my heart,
’cause it let the light of love come through.

Astonishing work of lace.
Carved out by many moons and enemies.
I touch the wrinkles on your face.
Call it empathy.

Every soul you meet
is struggling in its daily war.
Seeing through their eyes.
Freed from opaque veils
You’ll see.

Call it empathy

Every soul you meet
is struggling in its daily war.
Feeling through their hearts.
Freed from your ice-cold blood.
You’ll feel.

SHIFTED IN SPACE

There it is flapping its wings and your life changes forever.
Ten thousand miles away from your skin, but you feel a shiver down your spine.

The scene around you looks the same but who the hell are all these guys?
The script now tells a different story, where is the one you have been rehearsing for?
It’s shifted in space

Shifted in space,
moved in time.
My mind is getting bleary,
my body weary.

Shifted in space,
lost in time.
No grip on rationality,
I’m drowning down insanity.

Unaware of what is going on, your character keeps acting.
Until the next sliding door gets him into a new chapter.
But shifted in space

Shifted in space,
moved in time.
My mind is getting bleary,
my body weary.

Shifted in space,
lost in time.
No grip on rationality,
I’m drowning down insanity.

It’s not a déjà vu
nor a clairvoyance
The sense of being confused
growing in your head.

Don’t feel so afraid, my friend
you are just immersed
in what’s been named multiverse.
Don’t be surprised, my friend
if the only thing you’re feeling
is your poor, lost brain
in a plot-twist chain.

Shifted in space,
My mind is getting bleary,
my body weary.

Shifted in space,
No grip on rationality,
I’m drowning down insanity.

Shifted in space,
lost in time.

Shifted in space,
lost in time.

LOST THINGS

Have you ever thought
and wished to know
where lost things have gone?
They all come out at night
and move here to heal up my soul

Brightened by the moonlight
like a girl’s pale face to her lover’s eyes
They dance like snow
an ephemeral show
oh… over and over again

But right under the sun
A new day’s begun
a bit thief, a bit cad
‘cause my nocturnal guests
were just memories of all I once had.

Like dying stars
teardrops keep on falling down
into my hands
But should I be grateful for all I have had?

Nothing lasts forever
The things you’ve deeply loved, will be painfully lost
It’s simple math. A foreseen path
Would you rather not have lived them at all?

Whispering at night
Stars keep shining there, way up high.
I look up at them
and so I just feel
Okay

You know I don’t believe in angels
But if I were wrong
Could you please collect the things that are gone?
Would you carry them all
And lay your hands
Again
Over me.

I’D BETTER RUN

Dark
Like the bottom of a well
So dark

Warm
Like the embrace of a nest
So warm

I know they’re making plans for me

I know they’re writing rules for me

Quiet
The passing of my days ain’t making noises
It’s so quiet

Safe
The hiding place that shields me won’t betray
It’s so safe

I know they won’t take care of me
I’ll have to fight

I know they will make fun of me
I’ll have to ignore it

So don’t steal me from this lovely world
My lovely, lonely world
My lovely, lonely heart

I know they’re making plans for me
I’d better run

I know they’re writing rules for me
I’d better run

I know they won’t take care of me
I’d better run

I know they will make fun of me
I’d better run

GET BETTER

There’s too much of everything around
Hyper productivity destroys creativity
Nothing stands out in the background
since human mind has lost originality

I’ll buy me a new car
I’ll buy me a new phone
I don’t care if they are all the same
no, no, no

There’s too much of everybody around
who claim to be the King of Wannabe!
No one stands out in the background
they try to stave off what they’re really gonna be

I’ll follow the new star
I’ll follow the new glam
I don’t care if it is just a fad
no, no, no

…that’s why we want you to…

Get better! Be better, we’ll teach you!
Get better! Buy better, we’ll sell it to you!
Don’t think. Don’t feel. Don’t be yourself.
Get better! Eat better, we’ll feed you!
Get better! Get better, we’ll cure you!

Go-Getter…
Go-Getter…

Get Better!

Wake me up and let me out.
This way of follow you is just confusing me
Shouldn’t I be doing original things?
Can you swear to me that’s the way to success?

How can you doubt me?
How can you not see,
where have I got to thanks to you all?
No, no, no?
So…

Get better! Be better, we’ll teach you!
Get better! Buy better, we’ll sell it to you!
Don’t think. Don’t feel. Don’t be yourself.

Get better! Eat better, we’ll feed you!
Get Better! Dress better, we’ll dress up you.
Don’t think. Don’t feel. Don’t say a word.

Get better! Get better, we’ll cure you!
Get better! Get better, we’ll clone you!

we are waiting for more.
waiting for more.
We want you a Go-Getter

I’ll do my best to make you proud of me.
I’ll read your blog to find out how to live
I’ll learn by heart the secrets of your being.
I’ll change my Faith, my Name, my Diet and all the suits in my room

I’ll do my best to be a “who’s who”.
I’ll shape my face and try to look like you.
I’ll get to be a star out of the blue.
I’ll change my Faith, my Name, my Diet and K.U.W.T.K.

THE TALK OF THE TOWN

Six o’clock of a summer dawn.
I walk the never-sleeping city streets
Must be a special day for I’m quite alone.
A coffee drink and my morning eats.

The sun is still low, but I clearly see your shape
“NYC”
But in the blink of an eye people fill every seat
Getting ready to stage my brand new show
Let’s go!

Must be for the “lag”
and I still ain’t unpacked my bag
I’m morphing into someone else
Barely recognize myself
Unknown to the crowd
“does anybody here really know my name?”
An empty blackboard
I’m gonna play a new game

The sun is at noon, this is me from now on.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah!”
I left the old me at the gate.
The new suit I’m wearing makes me feel great.

The moon is now high, shining over my pride.
“clapping crowd”
Hey, have you read the morning paper headlines around?
“The man who became the talk of the town!”

New place, new face for me.
I’ve thrown away the stone I’ve carried since the day
a Black Star ate my own, soul.

Must be for the “lag”
Unknown to the crowd

Must be for the “lag”
and I still ain’t unpacked my bag
I’m morphing into someone else
Barely recognize myself
Unknown to the crowd
“does anybody here really know my name?”
An empty blackboard
I’m gonna play a new game

Must be for the “lag”
and I still ain’t unpacked my bag
I’m morphing into someone else
Barely recognize myself
Unknown to the crowd
“does anybody here really know my name?”
An empty blackboard
I’m gonna play a new game

What a surprise, I can’t believe my eyes.
”your eyes?”
My closet is filled with suits, each has a sticker on it.
They are as thin as skin, as thick as shields,
as many as all the faces and people I’ve met.

LIE ON ME

Loving me
Nothing easier in your life
Your healthy madness put aside
You took care of your child

Loving you
My own hero, my rival
And I wonder: “Did I make you proud of me?”
“Did I hurt you sometimes?”

Lie on me
I wanna feel your heartbeat join mine
Hey, don’t you know my first ever memory is
Me sleeping on your shoulder

Stay with me
I wanna show you all the things I learnt.
If I play my part well, it’s because of you.
With all its happiness and all its pain

Back in time
To get to know that young man I never met.
To find out if you are as I imagined you.
Spending time like friends do.

Deep in my heart
I’ve discovered
How much you are my roots
losing them, my greatest fear
It doesn’t matter how tall I’ve grown

Weak is your light
It slowly blurs into this gloomy dawn.
Grey is the sky
I hope you felt me holding your hand

Lie on me
I wanna feel your heartbeat join mine
Hey, don’t you know my first ever memory is
Me sleeping on your shoulder

Fly with me
Over the places you have shown me
And I feel I’m somehow walking in your footsteps
And I’ll keep going on, on my way

Lie on me
na na nana eheh oh
na na nana eheh oh
Stay with me
na na nana eheh oh
na na nana eheh oh
Lie on me
na na nana eheh oh
na na nana eheh oh
Fly with me
na na nana eheh oh
na na nana eheh oh

EXODUS

So, here we have it, the Human Race
dealing with its doubts
They scan the mirror for their faces
and what they hide behind.
The lives they choose to live
and the ones they refuse.
Layers stacked randomly
occasionally in use.

It’s all about perception,
the way it makes you feel
Puzzled by deception.
It’s not here. It’s not real.

They pray for help from idols,
given birth to by frightened minds.
But hate to sense the bridles,
firmly holding them through the wilds.
Wishing to fly high,
likely ends up crawling on the ground.
Amused by feeling V.I.P.s
They are walking to the pound.

It’s all about perception,
and how it looks like real.
The mind games realm.

Do you think I’ve to be blamed for the world we are living in now?
Do you think I should be ashamed for the expression on someone else’s face?
Do you think I will be judged for the failures that I’ve faced?
Do you think I won’t be recognized for what I have created?

Do you think I have to pay for the choices that I’ve made?
Do you think I should disown the illusions I’ve believed in?
Do you think I must atone
for the sins I’ve not committed,
for the ones I really did,
for the feelings that I keep on
showing?

It’s all about perception,
your feeling like a stone.
all that’s gone,
all that’s to come.

And you
who’s been by my side
have you recognized your face among mine?
Yes you
If you enjoyed this ride
could be me in another life

Sailing alone
in ten or a thousand
towards The Isle of Avalon.
